Dez Bryant posts a pre-revenge tour video of workout with Odell Beckham Jr.

New York Giants

Surely not coincidentally, Dez Bryant has posted a video of him working out with Odell Beckham Jr.

Upon being cut by the Dallas Cowboys last week, Dez Bryant made it clear he took the move personally and wanted to stay in the NFC East. The New York Giants have been rumored to be atop his list of destinations, which would fit his priority over anything else to play the Cowboys twice a year.

The Giants seemed to have no room for Bryant, due to a lack of salary cap space and no dire need at wide receiver. But they cut wide receiver Brandon Marshall on Thursday, with a failed physical declaration coming off an ankle injury that ended his 2017 season. The move cleared a shade over $5.1 million from the books, and nearly doubled the Giants’ cap space.

Right on cue, hours after the Giants got rid of Marshall, Bryant took to social media to post an interesting workout video on Instagram.

That’s Giants’ wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. working out with Bryant. His having Beckham as a workout partner has not been publicly revealed before, and it seems to be a relatively new development.

How many days qualifies as “several” is fairly subjective. But Bryant was released seven days ago now, and maybe he began working in a more focused manner with Beckham’s trainer the next day.

Giants general manager David Gettleman seemed to leave the door open to signing Bryant on Thursday.

“I have interest in everybody”, Gettleman said. “We do our film work, and you never know.”

Beckham and Bryant on the same team would be interesting, though not necessarily ideal for avoiding a double dose of notoriety on and off the field. The noise in the huddle, with two guys who will swear they were open on the previous play, could drive Eli Manning crazy.
